Cellphone radiation has been linked to a number of diseases and studies have shown that metal- or plastic-based phone cases only add to the intensity of the radiation that a mobile phone emits during usage. To minimize the effect of harmful radiation and to make your iPhone more eco-friendly, Portland, Oregon-based design studio Grove Made has created the Grove Case for iPhone.
The all-wood iPhone case is completely handmade and comes with a plant fiber core. The design is made entire out of bamboo which makes it one of the most sustainably made designs in the market. The lightweight, slide-out design protects your iPhone without adding to its weight and ensures that you are protected from harmful radiation without losing cellphone signal strength.
What makes the Grove Case for iPhone a truly unique option is the fact that each case can be custom-engraved with etchings and artwork chosen from the available designs on the case maker’s site. The customers can also have their own artwork and designs engraved on the case for an extra $20.
The Grove Case for iPhone 4 and 4S is currently available for order from the case maker’s site for $79 plus $20 for custom images. The case is also available for the soon-to-be-launched iPhone 5. Customers would need to put in a pre-order deposit of $20 and they will need to pay just $59 when the case is launched in the first week of October.
