TDK has launched a new kind of wireless speaker that plays music on a paired phone via Bluetooth while also charging it wirelessly with the help of an induction pad. Part of the company’s "Life on Record" line that it showcased at the IFA 2012, the TDK Wireless Charging Speaker comes with an induction charge pad on top of it that is designed to charge any cellphone placed on top of it. The speaker comes packed with a ported subwoofer and four full range speakers that provide a clear, crisp sound.
Controls allow users to adjust the level of treble and bass. The speaker allows users to pair mobile devices with it via Bluetooth v2.1 with AAC to maintain an optimum and constant connection or through a 3.5mm stereo jack. The TDK Wireless Charging Speaker can also function as a charger for Qi-compatible device and comes with an inductive charging pad at its top end to charge mobile phones wirelessly.
The speaker also has a USB port that can also be used to facilitate plugged in charging. The TDK Wireless Charging Speaker is also fully portable thanks to a built-in rechargeable battery which lasts a good six hours on a full charge. The water-resistant and compact speaker is priced at $399.95.
