From your question it is quite clear that your specific need is to compress a number of files that have different extensions. As you are using Mac OS X on your Macbook now, there are two ways to accomplish your job. First and easiest is to use built in file compression facility in OS X to ZIP your files and second to use a commercial software like WinZip on your Mac. I recommend you to go for the first method as it is far more easier and comprehensible than downloading a whole new standalone software to do the same job. Please follow the steps given below to compress your files in Mac OS X.

Step 1: First open any Finder window in Mac OS X and locate the files you want to compress. If they are spanned on different directories across your hard drive, create a new temporary directory and copy all the different files to this new directory.

Step 2: Now as all of your to-be-compressed files are in the same directory, please select all of them. Then go to 'File' menu on the Menubar and chose 'Compress'. This will automatically compress the selected files and folders to a single ZIP file.

In case you really want to go for WinZip in Mac, WinZip International, the maker of WinZip for Windows has come up with a Mac version of the same software. It is however not free of cost and comes with a $29.95 price tag.
