How to setup LAN connection with a router?

I am trying to setup an DSL internet connection on my new PC. I can't seem to understand this windows 7 network wizard. Could anyone tell me how to setup this LAN connection with a router?

I am a network engineer and I will surely help you on this. LAN means the local area network. A LAN connection is setup for the transferring of data from one computer to other computer within any office or within a building or within a home. You can easily setup a local area network (LAN) by the help of the router. Router is used for deciding the shortest route for transferring of data from one computer to other. So for setup of the LAN, first of all check how many systems you want to connect with it. Now rename them as system 1, system 2 ans so on. Now connect the network cable from one computer to the other and connect router with this. Now visit all the computers one by one and open the run command. Give the ping command on it and check if all the computers are connected with one-another. Hope by the end of this you can setup a LAN connection.
