is windows 7 fast?

my desktop is two years old now and last week my windows vista got crashed. as vista was running pretty fine on my desktop so I am thinking of continuing with it. But at the same time I am feeling that I should try windows 7 but my only worry is the speed. I am thinking that the system requirements will be different for the windows 7,so I want to know is windows 7 fast. If someone has any idea or know about it please share ……I would really appreciate …..thanks

If you are concerned with speed, while comparing Vista with Windows 7, yes, you are making a right choice. That is one compelling advantage of Windows 7 over Vista.

But if you are seeing it in term of real productivity, Vista is way better that Windows 7.
