Thanks to RAID 1 technology, the My Book Live Duo also allows users to optimize data protection by dividing the drive into two. This allows one half of the drive to be used as a mirror or duplicate for data that is originally store on the other. If you don’t have any sensitive data or just want to make the most of the storage capacity that the system comes with, you can always use the out of the box configuration that the system comes with.
You can also connect the drive to a wireless router to enable access to files on your entire home or private network including multiple desktops, tablets and smartphones. The My Book Live Duo setup is designed to offer a quiet, cool and low power storage in a single two desktop hard drive solution that makes using it economical in the long run as well. The 8TB version of the My Book Live Duo is set to retail at $660 though the company also offers more affordable variants in 6TB and 4TB capacities that are priced at $440 and $375 respectively that are fitted with the same performance capabilities as the top model.
