Why my Vista D drive is is full with folders of 0 bytes properties?

Hi there. I have an Acer laptop that runs on Vista. I don’t have much stuff that has been saved on my laptop still my 111 GB D drive is full. The drive has three folders among them two of the folders are empty and the third has a few MB space left in it. I tried to delete almost all of my old backups but even that didn’t give me any space even after I gave my system a reboot. Can some help me with tried and tested solutions for this problem of mine? What is filling up my D drive, 111GB in 6 months? Anyone have a problem like this? Please I don’t want to reformat the hard drive.

It seems to have a problem in your temporary folder of your hard disk. Actually, sometimes, you may observe that your hard disk is unnecessarily is filling with unknown files which are considered as the temporary files. The temporary files will eat up your hard disk's space and will slow your laptop performance. It is always better to erase the temporary files in the hard disk with regular interval. Sometimes, you may recognize the temporary files in your hard disk. Again, you may not recognize the temporary files due to its hidden status. If you install the software in D drive of your laptop, then you may get some extracted files are left on D drive. Therefore, you have to search the extracted files, which are no longer useful for your laptop and immediately erase these files from your laptop. As, you will save some space for your laptop operation. Always, try to extract the installation files in the desktop folder of C drive and after completing the installation, immediately delete these files. It will save some space for your laptop. It is also better, if you disable the restore point feature of Vista operating system. Actually, the restore point feature of Vista operating system will eat up a lot of hard disk space in your laptop.
