Valkee light headsets have proved to be very rewarding for hockey players according to the study conducted by the Finnish national league. This gadget has shown to increase motor response and heighten adrenaline levels in players whereby they react faster in the field with their passes and calls. The study required 12 minutes of bright light passage for three minutes every morning for three weeks. This study was undertaken by Department of Exercise and Medical Physiology at Verve Research, Finland.
The reason behind
By motor reaction we refer to the person’s speed of response to external stimuli. Motor reaction involves passage of neural information to the brain through the central nervous system and back to the effect area. The faster the reaction time, the better is the response. This is similar to sudden withdrawal of your hands when you accidentally touch a hot object. These include both visual responses to movements and emotions and other motor responses.
The Valkee bright light headset channels 8-12 minutes of the bright light to the light sensitive areas of the brain that trigger the motor responses. These light doses are safe for the inner brain and have also been successfully tested at University of Oulu, Finland, 2011 to treat seasonal affective disorders. Using the bright light stimulates the motor sensitive cells of the brain that are in line with the ear canal and thus making reaction time faster.
Introducing bright lights to the brains of the hockey players heightens their performance by alleviating their mood and activity. It triggers the adrenaline glands creating more blood flow in organs and thus the player getting more effective in the field. Patients with Winter Blue - severe seasonal affective disorder - got total relief within 4 days with one 8-12 minute doses daily. It was successful in 90% of the cases stating the importance of bright light therapy in medical history.
It is biologically seen that a cause of depression and mood swings can be improper assistance to the brains photosensitive areas. The ear canal being the thinnest way to the brain is a more logical path of introducing the bright light than the previous used eye blasts. In the later case more damage is produced at the retinas than comfort in the brain cells. This helps achieving a merrier countenance in the least amount of time.
Recognition
The Valkee light headsets were introduced in august 2010. Since the functioning of the device is based on neurological, biological, psychiatry and physiological elements, the gadget has been recognized by the European Union (EU) to be a CE-certified Class II (a) medical device.
Use
The Valkee light headsets are a great innovation with use in medical technology and every other field. For hockey players light therapy using this gadget can help improve their performance and they will be less deviated by mood swings and give their best in the field. This device comes in both black and white models and can be a real asset for anyone who likes to increase his/her power of concentration and activity ability.
