How to uninstall an operating system from Virtual PC?

Microsoft's Virtual PC software enables the users to install a number of operating systems within Windows in virtualization mode while Windows runs in the background. For uninstalling operating system follow the below instructions.

Instructions

1. Press the Start menu and next go to All Programs. Go to the end of All Programs and see the Virtual PC and open it.

2. Double-click the Virtual Machines folder. It will open a window, showing all the operating systems that are installed on virtual machines in Virtual PC.

3. Right-click on operating system that is to be uninstalled and select the Settings. A window will open showing the setting.

4. Click on the Hard Disk on the left which has a .vhd file linked with it (it has "OS.vhd" beside the Hard Disk number, where OS is the name of the operating system installed). Click on Browse button next to the Virtual Hard Disk File listing on the right. The file selection window will open.

5. Click on .vhd file for the operating system that needs uninstallation, then press the Delete key. Choose yes after that to confirm.

6. Close the selection file window and the settings window, but leave the original Windows Explorer window open. Find out the OS.vmcx file and single-click it for selecting. Press Delete again, to confirm the file deletion when it prompts.
