How to uninstall the GPS on the Archos 605 WiFi?

Hi. I got a new gps cradle for my Archos 605 Wifi. After running the install cd I plugged the Archos into the cradle boot up the software and I get the message Closed GPS Connection Check hardware settings. I have tried leaving it outside in my car for 15 minutesand it never picks up satellites.My DVR and helmet camera still work fine and the unit still connects to my PC fine. I tried contacting Archos but got no response it's been over a week.ok get this. If I plug it into my computer, mess around for a few minutes then unplug it from the computer and plug in the GPS connector it will work that one time. This corrected the hardware issues for me and now it gathers GPS signal in no time at all, and i used to have the exact same closed connection issues. check your memory card. As it is the it would clearly not have a 'memory card'. I'm puzzled as i have definately installed the maps correctly as they worked previously any help would be greatly appreciated.
