There are two ways to remove Google gadgets from Ubuntu 9.04 and I am telling you both of them. Let us see which one works for you.

a. Navigate to Applications then find Software centre>installed software, look for Google gadget and remove. If you find more than one entry, remove all of them.

b. Open System and then Synaptic manager. It will ask for your password, put it in. Use the search bar to find gadget, select Google gadgets, select complete removal and click on apply. After finishing the process, open nautilus on your home folder and press “Ctrl + H” to display all the hidden files and folders. Find a folder with the name Google and open that. Inside the folder, look for a folder called gadgets and delete it.

After following any of the above process, you will see that the Google gadget is disappeared from the desktop. Please share me with which one worked for you.
