We have several methods for uninstalling Google gadgets from Ubuntu. I am giving appropriate method, please go through it.

Go to applications then browse into software center click on installed software, scroll through it and select the program you want to remove, click on remove button. This will definitely works for you. Or sometimes there might be a chances of getting installation errors, following are some errors that frequently occurs when the cache file in the installed directory of google gadget are non empty.

Have a look for some of error patterns:

Error 1- dpkg – warning: Directory `/var/cache/google’ is not empty while removing google-desktop-Linux, so not removed.

Error 2- dpkg – warning: Directory: `/var/cache/google/desktop’ is not empty while removing google-desktop-Linux, so not removed.

In such situation, go to the same listed directories, and delete the files from directories manually. These are only some cache files, and not so important for the operating systems point of view. Linux will automatically prevent you from deleting them so that other programs can use the cache file if needed.
