An unhandled win32 exception error?

I have a laptop which is running on windows xp along with Service Pack 2 but recently I have been inundated with Visual Studio JIT Debugger popup error messages for no clear reason. The error message shows that an unhandled win32 exception cropped up in svchost.exe. What is this error all about? How to fix it?

I was facing the same problem when I have got a error message that an unhandeled win 32 exception error. This problem occurs because of the absolute path of the shell in registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogonshell with the value c:windowsexplorer.exe or c:winntexplorer.exe.

SO for trouble shooting of this error you can follow the following steps:

For the added protection, back up registry before the modifying it. Then, you can also restore the registry if the problem occurs. For the more information about the how to back up and restore registry, you can visit the Microsoft official website.

To resolve this particular problem, modify value of registry key as given belof HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogonshell with the value explorer.exe. Hope by the end of this your problem will remove completely. It was really nice to help you.
