How do I transfer camcorder tapes to DVDs?

Last night I had my camcorder broken accidently. I have a lot of files that were recorded by the camcorder so I need to transfer all of my tapes to DVD’s. I even tried to do so but my computer doesn’t have any ports for me to put these tapes into it and get the files transferred in to a DVD. Is there a simpler way that I can do transferring of camcorder tapes to DVDs?

How do I enable DMA on the disc? Right-click the My Computer desktop icon and then click Properties.
In the System Properties window, select the Hardware tab and then click Device Manager.
In the Device Manager, expand the entry for IDE ATA/ATAPI, by double-click the IDE ATA/ATAPI or by clicking the + on one side of it.
Select the appropriate IDE channel (Primary or Secondary). To go to the Channel Properties window IDE, double click on the channel and then click Properties, or select the channel and then press -> Properties from the menu bar.
In the properties window channel IDE Primary / Secondary, select the Advanced Settings tab.
Esoj frame 0 of the device for primary device or channel frame 1 of the slave device in the channel, depending on the device for which you are trying to enable DMA is master or slave. Click the dropdown menu in Transfer Mode. Select DMA if available. then press OK.
To check if the DMA has been enabled for the device, again select the appropriate IDE channel, opens the IDE Channel Properties and select the Advanced Settings tab. The grid in the Current Transfer Mode Ultra DMA Mode to display 2 if the dispostivo can handle this, or Multi-Word DMA Mode 2 if the device does not support UDMA. If DMA was not enabled, PIO Mode show.

Problems with DMA? If you can not enable DMA in Windows 2000/XP, please try deleting the IDE channel and Reintal concerned to resolve the problem:
Uninstall the IDE channel (Double click on the IDE channel Primary / Secondary -> Uninstall), then look for new hardware (Action-> Check for new hardware), and let Windows detect and reinstall the IDE channel and the devices on it. Usually after this operation, "the DMA will be available" enables DMA.
If you have a motherboard based on Intel chipset then it should not have problems using DMA.
Chipsets from other manufacturers can give many problems, especially VIA chipset motherboards cause problems with the DMA settings. In this case you must install the latest driver for the manufacturer's busmaster motherboard or chipset manufacturer. Change the IDE setup by moving the device to another IDE channel can also solve the problem.
