I would be doing a project for my computer class. I am doing a little write up on the top 5 operating systems. I can do the research part only if I know the top 5 operating systems in terms of efficiency?

1. Mac OS X There is a root which is used in Mac OS X which allows only the user to perform particular tasks and prevents access to the System Files without a password. 2. UBUNTU Ubuntu may be the main desktop used by the average user after some years. Ubuntu is already being used by large companies for security reasons. Its main feature is that it is free of cost and provides an open source. It has extremely good stability and virus protection. Ubuntu only needs 256 MB of memory. 3. WINDOWS 7 Recently released Windows 7 is much like Vista. Windows 7 seems to have copied a lot of features from Linux such as the Compiz. However the memory required for Windows 7 is still very large as compared to Ubuntu Linux. Microsoft could have done better and it is best for gaming purposes. 4. Free BSD Free BSD is one of the safest computer systems made because of its robustness. It’s commonly used for Internet servers and is compatible with most Operating Systems, like Linux and Mac. BSD runs quite fast and is very easy to use. 5. Windows XP XP so far is probably the best Windows Computer made for the average user. It’s not that bad for an 8-year old OS. It is simple. Vista has too many features and is extremely slow. There is a simple user interface here.
