We have all imagined about how futuristic modes of transport would be like - very high-tech and extremely fast. Technological advancements are happening at an exponential rate and very soon we will be having futuristic transport that may take us to the moon or give us a ride up to outer space! We might even come close to the possibility of traveling faster than light - but realistically speaking, a lot of new concepts would soon create a revolution in the transport industry. Here are ten such technologies and concepts for traveling geeks:
Edit
1. New Airbus Concept
The Airbus makes use of holographic and virtual technologies apart from providing a panoramic view from the cabin. Hence this futuristic airbus would make it possible for the passengers to get a complete view of the skies which will be a surreal experience for the passengers. This Airbus would also come out with a new version that will provide its passengers the luxury of in-seat acupressure, aroma therapy and various other treatments.

2. Virgin Galactic SpaceShip
The Virgin Galactic SpaceShip Two has been unveiled a couple of months ago, and this amazing SpaceShip has a novel design in which the twin carrier has twin fuselages and one mothership. The plane would rise up to 50,000 feet in the sky and then the mothership would release the rocket engine to outer space. Tests are still being conducted for security checks.

3. Project Orion

4. Aerion Supersonic Business Jet
The Aerion Corporation based in Nevada is engaged in manufacturing an $80 million Supersonic Business Jet which will have the capacity to carry 12 passengers. They would also be manufacturing a 50-seat version with a range of 4 thousand miles and will hit the speed of Mach 1.5 (1,840 km/h). The high speed intensity of the transport would be out to amaze us in 2014 - hence a journey from Paris to New York would only take 4 hours and 14 minutes!

5. Jellyfish Submarine
The usage of submarines dates back to the 1800s, however it was mostly used by the navy during the First World War. Submarines are presently being used for pipeline inspections and exploration purposed as well. However, Taizo Doi has designed a futuristic Jellyfish Submarine that would provide us with a new sea-monster outer structure and modern comforts for traveling through the deep oceans.

6. Astrox Space Plane

7. Strato Cruiser airship concept

8. 400-Foot Diameter Balloon
José Mariano López-Urdiales, from Spain has designed a concept of a air balloon that will provide us an outerspace vision of the curvature of the Earth - which would almost be similar to how we would see the Earth from outer space. The balloon would take its passengers up in the air at around 36 km - making it possible for them to see the bright sun enclosed in the black sky. The curved form of the Earth would also be entirely visible along with the horizon that is depicted where the blue sky ends.

9. Futuristic Aircruise
The Aircruise is a massive vertically structured airship concept that would provide air travel a breaking edge technology along with premium luxury and comfort. The whole philosophy behind the Aircruise is to make people realize that air travel is not getting across long distances but making it an unforgettable experience. The Aircruise would be powered by using natural hydrogen gas and would travel at a slower pace so as to enable the passengers to enjoy the aircraft that include 5 small apartments, 4 duplex apartments, living and dining spaces, a bar and lounging area and the beautiful view of the sky! The windows on the Aircruise would be big in size and the floor would also be made of glass - which will provide the ultimate 'flying experience - literally!

10. MyCopter
The design and concept of the myCopter looks like one from a futuristic sci-fi film enabling you to fly to work without getting entangled in traffic snarls - but this could be a possibility soon! The European Union has undertaken a project for studying the scope of Personal Aerial Vehicles (PAV) for travel across European countries and the myCopter is one design made by Gareth Padfield of a PAV that could revolutionize personal transportation for daily travel if introduced. The PAV would be eco-friendly and would be utilized for short distance travel, having the capacity of traveling for around 20 km by using battery power only.
