Which dell 1907fp monitor would I go for?

My monitor seems to be looking obsolete now so I am planning to buy a new monitor for my desktop. I consulted from some of my expert friends and the conclusion came out to be as Dell 1907FP. I searched through internet and I like the features of it. Earlier too I had a dell monitor. I want to buy 20 inch version but I am confused if 20 inch is better or the 19 inch. If you have some other options, please suggest. Thank you!!

The Dell 1907fp is a great choice to go for. It is budget friendly and has a nice performance for a monitor of that price range.

It has a great design and high end ergonomics.

  1. However it does have a bad side to it.
  2. The lightweight base provided to it is quite wobbly and there is no proper balance.
  3. Funny, but the onscreen menu doesn't have an exit button.
  4. There are no dedicated buttons for brightness settings.

In the DVI-D signal there is no option for adjusting the contrast.

If you are looking at other options after reading the negative sides of the model. Then, there are few other options which may be a bit higher priced but the quality in those monitors will definitely be worth all the bucks spent.

1. Philips Brilliance 190P6 -

With a high degree of adjustability and inbuilt speakers, the Philips Brilliance 190P6 is all set to impress both the business users as well as home PC users. There is also usb port added to this monitor.

2. LG Flatron L1981Q -

This super slim monitor has all that the Philips Brilliance 190F6 has minus the USB port. Although this one looks a lot better with a sleek design and a nice adjustable base. It is adjustable by 90 degree and the base support is pretty strong even in the 90 degree posture.

3.Sony SDM-X95KB -

Although being a business monitor by Sony, the SDM-X95KB very much fits into the home category as well with its One digital DVI input and one analog VGA input. This is another great monitor that you can buy.
