Tips on backing up your hard drive?

My last portable hard drive crashed and in that I lost a lot of important data in it. I failed to recover it either. The drive had too many bad sectors. So I have a new drive with me now it also has some data and would like to keep it in a way that it is safe for long time. What would your suggestion be? How do you guys back up your hard drive? Please share some tips to keep the data safe for long time.

Hi friend,There are many tips on backing up your hard drive and Windows hasa built in feature for this itself. One of the easiest ways to back up yourhard drive whether you have one big C: drive or several partitions is to use a program that does image backups. Here'show to get your backups up and running.

1. Firstly you need to go to Start Button, Programs, Accessories, SystemTools, Backup
2. After doing this you will see a note welcoming you to Microsoft's backup. Itwill also ask you what you want to do? Yoy have to Choose a option sayingCreate New Backup Job and than you have to click "OK".
3. You will get a prompt "what to back up"?
4. Now you need to Choose option saying back up my computer, back up all filesand folders and than you have to Click "Next"
5. Now you will be in a Back Up Wizards. This wizard will let you add on to your last backup if you have already beenthrough the process before. If this is the first time to backup choose allselected files If not then choose New and Change Files.
6. Now you have to decide where to Backup to? If you are using a CD-Writer make sure to back up to the drive letter ofit. Here is an example: D:Backup.qic. Change the drive letter to correspondwith your drive.
7. Click Start

I hope these tips will certainly help you to know better about backing upyour hard drive.
