system.mdw access 97 error?

I have desktop pc and on that I have installed Microsoft Access 97 but yesterday I have also installed Microsoft Access 2000. But now when I try to log on the account or password that I type does not work and displays the message that Microsoft Access couldn't find the file SYSTEM.MDW. So tell me how can I fix this problem? I need a quick reply as my so much of work is pending because of this?

10 EASY steps to resolve the problem -

1. Uninstall Microsoft access, both the versions completely. Install fresh Access 97, but do not install it into its default folder. Instead, install it into a different folder. We are doing this to avoid installing both versions of Microsoft access into the same folder. Finish the setup.

2. Install Access 2000, note that while installing do not upgrade the previous version, i.e. Access 97. It is to ensure that access 97 remains in the folder that we assigned it.

3. Go to C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice1033.Click on the workgroup administrator, that is, Wrkgadm.exe icon in the folder and create a new system.mdw file at the following place :

C:System.mdw

4. Now start Access 2000 and on the tools menu, go to "Security", and click User and Group Accounts.

5. In the dialogue box now appeared, click the Change Logon Password tab.

6. Complete the password test and then click ok.

7. Now quit Access 2000 and restart it, and then open the sample database Northwind.mdb. You will be prompted to log on. Quit Access 2000.

8. Open/ Start Access 97 and quit it. (Don't panic, it will all make sense in another step).

9. Start Access 2000 now, a message from the windows Installer will appear. After Access starts, try opening the Northwind database again. This time the database will open without prompting you to enter the password.

10. Now open Immediate Window by pressing CTRL + G. Then type ?DBEngine.SystemDB

11. Enjy the problem free Access. :)

[Generally this problem arises due to the reregisteration of the system.mdw file again and again by both the versions of Access, i.e. Access 97 and Access 2000]
