Could you suggest books and other things for building robots?

I always have been a great fan of robotics. I have decided to get into this profession and I have searched the information regarding building robots. I need professional but can’t find matter related to it on the web. I need research topics for that. What kind of information should I research to get into this? I have little understanding of programming languages (taking an AI, algorithms & data structures classes this semester). I would like to start relatively small, but I want to have a very good understanding of what I’m even doing at any given moment. Could you suggest books and other things for building robots? I need to build grand robots but need just the fundamentals. So, please help me.

Instructions

Things You'll Need
2 to 1.5 V engines
2 - SPDT switches
2 - AA battery
1 - AA battery holder / chassis battery
1 - wooden pearl

Build your profitable mini robot with some-step materials

  • Preparation of the plate and wire welding. Connect your soldering iron and let it heat up (at rest). While the iron is heated, cut strips of wire 13 (2.5 "ea.).
  • Strip the ends of each cable. You can experiment with the length of the cable, but should be about 0.4 inch.
  • Solder two wires for each motor. Solder connections, including the chassis of the mass.Welding wire connection in the third frame of the battery.
  • Turn the bracket over the battery, ensuring that the third cable is protruding in front of the layout. Taking care not to cross the wires protruding from the switches SPDT, SPDT switches glue on the chassis of the V-shaped battery
  • Locate and align the motors on each side (long side) of the battery case. Engines must to swing forward.
  • To make the rear wheel for the mini robot, take a wooden bead and a clip to slip through. You have to open the clip and use it in a way that will build on the back of the chassis.Paste the clip in place.
  • SPDT Switches: welding cable end to the other switch. Welding up and down and up own connectors connectors for each switch.
  • Engines: Find the side that has a connector on the engine, and then through the welding wire to the other motor on the side that has two connectors. Do this once for each motor.Solder a wire between the two engines on each side with two connectors. Take the last wire just to weld and connect another cable to it, and run the lead around the SPDT switch closest to it and solder the wire to the SPDT.
  • Take two clips and fold each in the form of an insect antenna, long and curved. Stick the antenna on the contact plate SPDT switch.
  • Place a heat shrink on each motor shaft. Using a match or a lighter heat reduces the heat to suit motor shafts. Place the batteries into the battery chassis ... and watch your robot run.
