Student designs world’s first bamboo Android phone

The problem with the handsets these days is their durability. Just one fall and all the interiors go haywire. Thus, begins the quest to the service centers to get the handset repaired. Most often, what actually happens is that the warranty does not cover the repair cost and you end up paying much more than you had initially bargained for.

The new Bamboo mobile phones seek to put all such woes to rest, giving all other phones a tough competition in terms of durability, design and competence. Kieron-Scott Woodhouse, a student of Middlesex University, has created the Bamboo ADZero solely out of boredom. Deciding to get rid of obsolete technology prevalent in the handsets of today, he put his foot down. What made his entrepreneurial design a big success were the features and an absolutely fantastic idea he has rolled to life.

Setting up his shop with a technological and a hardware entrepreneur, Woodhouse created his own personalized mobile phone. Like any other communication device, the Bamboo Phone also sports a camera equipped with a technology known as the ‘Ring Flash’. This technology should ensure reduction in photographic shadows and enhancement of the picture quality.

Pairing up his handset with Android and developing it with a larger screen, Keiron has a prized winner – all set to dominate. The weight of the bamboo does not even reflect in the weight of the gadget. To be honest, the weight has been slashed, which reduces the full weight to a whopping half of the current Apple's iPhone.

ADzero is doing the rounds in UK gadget market these days. Even though the phone was earlier intended for the Chinese market, the encouraging response received in Woodhouse’s home country has inspired the creator to launch it in UK itself, hopefully, later this year.
