Steps to create a mobile web version?

Hi folks, it has just been a week that I built a website with asp.net jquery sql server 2008 and now I am almost ready to get my latest project on floors. This time I want to build a mobile version of the same so that people using mobile web browsers may be able to access it too. I want to know just one thing that while I go on with my project do I need to move all my data to “the cloud”? If I build in .NET mobile, will it be accessible from iPhone and Android as it will be accessible via browser? My website is social directory for places, is there a GPS API that can help me to indicate that a user is near a place?

You can build and design your mobile site by using HTML only. First of all, you need to have software like Dreamweaver CS3 and Adobe Device Central. All these software you will find in Adobe Creative Suite 3. When you ready launch Dreamweaver CS3 from Create New option provided there. Now click on more. Now you have to choose HTML directly from page type button. Just below Doc Type you will get XTHML Mobile 1.0 profile. Now publish out your HTML page type by using XTHML Mobile 1.0 profile. Doing all these, you can code now your HTML-based website for cell phone.

Keep things simple by following simply a HTML design. It will help you to get more accurate and user-friendly mobile content. Online help to guide you through with your HTML coding is always available. Try out these sources in Google. Once you finished doing with your mobile HTML website, you need to test it. Do not test it within the browser. In stead, you open "Preview in Browser" and then from the menu you choose Adobe Device Central. Now Choose target device from Adobe Device Central and you can manually choose a target to launce your site. There are so many devices might be displayed here. You job is to keep your site simple so that it can be viewed quickly or in a hassle-free way. Once you finish all these, you can load your code and can supply them to mobiles and other devices.
