Gamers of the World Unite! The date of one of the most anticipated releases is here. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is now in stores. 12 years ago, the originial StarCraft came to computers to completely revolutionize strategy games in real time. Their numbers are shiver more than eleven million copies of the game have been sold (more illegal copies to be hanging around there). Will the sequel to emulate the success of its predecessor?

Blizzard Entertainment, in charge of game development, planning began with the StarCraft II seven years ago. However, the launch was postponed more and more, in part by the amount of company resources destined to the World of Warcraft (hard to keep a whole metaverse). Eventually, Blizzard decided to leave the sequel in three installments: Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void.

Beyond the graphical and technical improvements (although with the default based on DirectX 9.0c, lagging versions 10, 10.1 and 11) is striking that it has removed the ability to play on LAN.What! Yes, I know that StarCraft is practically the father of the items of this type, but remember that 12 years ago the Internet did not have the speed and stability today. Blizzard believes that broadband is everywhere (or at least in the markets that interest you), so that has dampened support via LAN. Now players must connect through Blizzard servers as a way of preventing piracy.

Another approach unique is that players of South Korea (where StarCraft is a real phenomenon) may play this free delivery as long as their subscriptions are active World of Warcraft.Remember that South Korean market has been one of the major gold mines Blizzard (both WoW and StarCraft), so wanted to be grateful for the loyalty of its gamers.

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is sold in standard and Collector's Edition as well as direct download from the Blizzard site .. What about cost? With about $ 60 dollars for the regular version or $ 100 for collector's edition will have hours and hours and hours stuck on the computer. A few hours ago on Joystiq hung unboxing video of the collector's edition. Ugh, how I envy! Váyanme away my copy, please!
