SSD vs SAS?

There are some many connectivity options with the computers these days. I have heard about a lot of them like SATA, SAS, SSD, NAS etc. I was thinking which one is latest? What are these used for? Compare SSD vs SAS.

I want to share my personal experience on the SAS VS SSD. I will say that there are the instances where SAS array is really way faster, especially in the decently large file transfers. Once booted, it will depend on workload which is faster since, despite of the some people's facination with small reads/ writes, there are many people for whom 700MB/s sequential reads are the important. The Raid controller cache can also help the spindle drives quite the bit since anything that is in the read cache is going to be faster than the SSD sans raid controller (DDR/DDR2 on the PCIe x8 bus is faster than the NAND on SATA II/III). That all being said that 1 SSD = quiet, cool, and involves no any vibration so now all of my SAS drives have been deployed to the servers. On the price wise also SSD are more cheaper.
