Are you looking for a way to share your music out loud with a few pals on the go without going the boom box route? Then the new Sony SRS-BTV5 portable speaker is just what the doctor ordered for you. The wireless speaker pairs with an NFC- or Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet with a single touch. The Sony SRS-BTV5 is also compatible with any Bluetooth device including all Android-based phones and tablets, laptops, the iPhone and the iPad. This allows users to play their music out loud on the go without having to lug around bigger speakers. The speaker also comes with an audio-in input port to enabled wired connections with audio devices.

The fully portable Sony SRS-BTV5 stands just 68 mm tall, measures 65 mm in diameter and weighs just 130 g (4.6 oz). The 1.2W speaker boasts of 3600 Circle Sound technology which produces crystal clear, distortion free sound that can be shared with a group or even a roomful of people. The speaker is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which can be juiced up using a micro-USB charger.

On a full charge, the speaker provides over 4 hours of playtime. What makes the Sony SRS-BTV5 even more special, however, is the fact that it also turns a paired smartphone into a speakerphone. When the user gets an incoming call on their mobile phone, they can simply press the answering key. This will prompt the music to fade away and the user can then take the call. A built-in microphone in the speaker allows one or more people to participate in the call.
