Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is a touchscreen phone that uses capacitive technology and is much usable than any other smartphone of the same kind. The device is somewhat similar to that of X10 Mini only X8 is bigger, under the screen it has 3 buttons, the back of the phone is curved with a speaker and a camera positioned. On the top it has a micro-USB connector, a power socket in the middle and 3.5mm headphone jack. It has a 3-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480, HVGA capacitive touch and a camera which is 3.2 MP; it runs Sony Ericsson's User Experience Platform along with the Timescape feature. It is built on android platform 1.6, OS is fast and smooth to operate and navigate. The QWERTY keyboard is not so easy to use on a 3-inch screen.
Voice quality of the device X8 is clear and satisfying; the incoming sound has bit loudness and the outgoing sound experiences low quality. The battery backup provides 4.75 hours of talk-time and 18 days of stand-by time which is excellent, it is a budget handset and can do all the tasks a user wants but doesn’t excel in any, the compact size gives a good grip and a great look. The additional back panels provide great personalization but there is a lack of multi-touch feature. Camera quality is not so good but good enough to go on the run.

It supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS and runs on android platform 1.6 which can be upgraded to Android version 2.1 afterwards, the camera is 3.2MP without autofocus or flash which is a disappointment and the ram is 168 MB internal. The browser doesn’t support flash and the X8 captures VGA videos at 25fps.
