Sony Ericsson is supposed to release three new phones except Xperia S, which was demoed at the CES 2012. The grapevine machinations are talking about three Xperia models: the ST25i Kumquat (Xperia U), LT22i Nypon and MT27i Pepper. Some tech blogs have leaked images and specs of the unannounced smartphones from Sony Ericsson, one of leading Android phone manufacturers.

The new phones are expected to get official releases at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona 2012 in February. All new Sony Ericsson smartphones will be running on its new line of high performance NovaThor processor. Sony may also bring out a nice smartphone with Windows Phone this year, rumor mills predict.
Of course, all new phones will be aiming at moderate customers. Leaked images of the ST25i Kumquat and other phones simply reveal that Sony is to extend its Iconic Identity design to many more phones apart from the Xperia S. All new models will be featured with attractive designs, smooth displays and great audio features.
It is almost sure that the previously codenamed ST25i Kumquat will be wrapped off as Sony Ericsson Xperia U at the MWC. The Xperia U may come up with a small 3.5-inch LED-backlit LCD display (480x854 pixels). The new Xperia phone will be equipped with a 1GHz dual core NovaThor U8500 processor and an Android 2.3 Gingerbread. 5-megapixel rear camera and Timescape UI will be other major features of the Xperia U.
The MT27i Pepper is yet another rumored Sony Ericsson phone. Some blogs earlier suggested that the Xperia U or ST25i Kumquat and MT27i Pepper were same. But now it looks that both are different phones. The Pepper is to come with a 3.7-inch display, a bit larger than the display of Xperia U. However, it will also have the same NovaThor processor, 480x854 pixel display, form factor and other features.
The LT22i Nypon will be a 4-inch version with a better 540 x 960 pixel resolution. The Nypon will run on a dual core NovaThor U8500 processor and will have the latest version of Android. An 8-megapixel 3264x2448 rear camera with 1080p video capture, HTML5 and Adobe Flash support will be other leading features. The real names of both Nypon and Pepper are yet to come out.
It is certain that Sony Ericsson is simply working to realize three models of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phones for all classes of customers. The devices may fall in different price categories thus people can go for models affordable to them. Indeed, Sony Ericsson looks to compete with the leading phone makers like Samsung, HTC and Motorola with a set of incredible Android phones this year. The company will be looking for a respected place in mobile market with its successful Xperia brand.
