Why i am facing solidworks 2008 windows 7 error?

For last few days I am trying to install solidworks 2008 on my desktop which is loaded with win 7 and every time I am trying to install it brings up an error message saying that I can't install solidworks with a 64-bit operating system. Is there any way out of this problem or I have to continue working on XP?

just as to over come the error that occurs while you install solidworks 2008, do the following few steps.. 1. Click Start type"msconfig" inside the Start Search box, and press the Enter key. 2.now Click the "Boot" tab, & check the "Safe Boot" option and then click on the option ‘OK’. Then, again restart the system. If it does not works, try the Startup Repair then.. Startup Repair-.1. Keep pressing F8 when starting up, then , choose "Repair Your Computer" on the startup menu.2. Click the "Next" option and then type the user and the password if prompt, click next.3. then, Choose Startup Repair in the Systems Recovery Options with dialog box. If it the issue persists, choose Command Prompt from SystemRecovery Options and then run the following commands to repair the boot file… BOOTREC /FIXMBRBOOTREC /FIXBOOTBOOTREC /REBUILDBCDBOOTREC /SCANOS if it the issue still persists, choose the Command ‘Prompt’ from the System Recovery Options and run the coming following commands to repair the systems boot file_ BOOTREC /FIXMBR+BOOTREC /FIXBOOT+BOOTREC/REBUILDBCD+BOOTREC /SCANOS.. thank you..
