Is there any software that could be used to zoom in on a home security camera picture to make more recognizable?

I have a home security camera system installed on my house and recently I came home and found that my garage had been broken into and when I reviewed my cameras I could see the person that did it but can’t make out how he is? Is there any software that I could use to zoom in on the persons face and be clear so that I can make the face out of who did this? I would really appreciate if someone can help me regarding this. Thanks.

Hi,

There is a solution to your problem but it will only be effective if your camera resolution is good enough. This is because the picture will get pixellated if the camera resolution is low as soon as you zoom it. First of all capture the pictures of the person from the video itself by using any good media player such as VLC or KMPlayer. Store the picture on your hard drive. After that install Picasa on your system. You can download it free of cost from filehippo.com. Picasa is an easy to use, excellent photo viewing and editing software brought in by Google. Once installed, open these pictures in Picasa and zoom it in by pressing the up arrow on your keyboard. Next, click on "Edit using Picasa". Besides zooming, you can perform several other editing tasks such as cropping, adjusting the brightness, contrast, colour temperature, shadows, sharpness, etc. You can also undo the effects if you find them inappropriate. Apart from these, there are many more effects which can be imparted on the pictures. I'm sure that these excellent editing tools will help you to zoom into the face of the intruder and help you to identify him. All you have to do is to install the program and perform the appropriate photo editing.

Thanks
