Home automation is the real “it” thing in interior décor these days and if you’re not content with a system that allows you to control your home lighting at the touch of a button or the flick of a smartphone, you have got to check out the uber chic LIFX light bulbs invented by a team of designers from San Francisco. The team has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project which is in effect the most advanced home lighting system that we have seen to date. The lighting system comprises of easy to set up LIFX bulbs and a free smartphone app which would allow users to control the brightness or their bulbs or even have them change color at will.

The LIFX LED bulbs have an estimated life span of over 25 years which make them one heck of a sound investment for homeowners looking to cut down on their carbon footprint in the long run. What makes the smart light bulbs even more stunning is the fact that they are completely Wi-Fi enabled which allows users to control them via an app installed on their smartphones. This effectively means that users can switch off the light remotely, adjust their brightness as per their requirement and even have them change colors to experience festive lighting or use the multi-colored lighting for some good old color therapy!
The LIFX smart light bulb is also super easy to install. To use, users simply have to replace their existing light bulbs with the smart bulbs, download the free LIFX app from Google Play or the App Store and voila! the home light automation system is ready to be used. The LIFX project has almost reached its funding goal on Kickstarter though the creators of the smart light bulb have not yet specified the retail price of the bulbs.
