How to setup Gmail with outlook Express?

With Gmail account, you get access to tonnes of online storage space on Google servers to store your e-mails. There are many other ways in accessing Gmail account. One of the example is Outlook Express. You can setup a Gmail account with IMAP or POP access using Outlook Express. POP downloads new messages to Outlook Express, and IMAP offers seamless access to all archived mail and labels.Following are the steps to set up IMAP or POP access for a Gmail account using Outlook Express: First, make sure IMAP access is enabled in Gmail. From the menu bar, select Tools and click on Accounts.Click Add.Choose Mail and enter your name under Display name.Click Next and enter your Gmail address under E-mail address.Again, click Next.Check whether IMAP / POP3 is selected under Incoming mail server.Enter imap.gmail.com OR pop.gmail.com in the Incoming mail.Enter "smtp.gmail.com" under Outgoing mail (SMTP) server. Click Next and enter your Gmail Login Id under Account name.Enter your Gmail password in the Password.Click on Next and then Finish.Highlight 'imap.gmail.com' or 'pop.gmail.com' in the Internet Accounts window.Click Properties and go to the Servers tab.Under outgoing mail server, select an option "My server requires authentication".Now, select Advanced tab. Tick an option that requires a secure connection(SSL) under Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (IMAP or POP3).Type "465" under Outgoing server (SMTP).If the numerical digit under Incoming server (IMAP or POP3) does not specify "993(IMAP) or 995(POP)", then type "993 or 995". Click OK.close Internet Accounts window.Click YES to download Gmail account folders to Outlook Express.
