how to set windows xp cpu affinity?

I am trying to set affinity for RA1 on my XP. I use 1 core and set it to 1 cpu thread but now I think I would need to use both core (8600). But when I go into Task Manager, It is set to 1 cpu. If I change this to 2 cpu, going back into the game, it freezes on me. I cannot set this anymore back to normal dual core mode. If anyone has faced such problem before let me know what you did to resolve it?

Hey I was also trying to set two core in my CPU but was not able to set both and to resolve this I have talked to one of my friend who is software engineer and he give me the method to do this so I am sharing that with you. You just need to follow these steps and easily your problem will be solved. To do this first open the Windows Task Manager, and go to the Processes tab and here select the process for which you want to set the affinity. And right click on the process and select set affinity. In the Processor Affinity dialog, you will see 32 check box options, only the number of cores in your processors will be available to set affinity to. And then you will CPU0 and CPU 1 in dual core if so. Then again open the Windows Task Manager and from the processes tab select Show processes from all users button. Right clck on process and set the affinity. Now Check the CPU(s) that you want the process (application) to run on and click OK. If still you are not able to do this than its mean that there is any other problem in your CPU and i will advice you to go to any software installer as he can do this in best way.
