TV sets become smarter day to day. Why not the remote controllers? Yes, Samsung has come up with a better solution. The Korean tech maker has shaped up a smarter remote with touchpad capability and voice recognition functions. Samsung will ship the new remote with some of its fresh smart TVs this year.

Thanks to the touchpad and voice recognition, there are only a few buttons on the new Samsung remote. Well, you can depend on the touchpad and the Siri-like voice command options to change the channels, search for video on the web and control the volume, etc.
The touchpad locates on the upper part of the remote. Beside the touchpad, there are also some physical keys to change the channels and regulate the volume. They will help users manage the TV in a simple way.
The best part of the accessory is its voice recognition capability. Samsung has used the same voice recognition technology it has used in its ES8000 smart TV, which was displayed at CES 2012 in January. Users are just expected to speak to the microphone integrated in the remote to change the channels, sound volume and do many more.
The feature becomes a blessing when you have to access on-demand video services for streaming contents. You won’t have to type the log-in details every now and then. Instead, you can just tell those details to the remote to sign in.
Bluetooth and Infrared technologies are harnessed in the remote to enhance the transmission and reception between the remote and TV. The remote also works with Blu-ray players, set-top-boxes, besides the smart TVs from Samsung.
