Ever since the advent of the New iPad, every tech enthusiast worth his salt have certainly heard about the rumors of an upcoming smaller iPad. In this regard, iMore has come up with some juicy info on the expected bantam iPad cousin, and we surely are happy with its specs. How so? Well, for starters the new 'smaller' iPad (to be released in October of this year) will supposedly retain almost all the exclusive features of its bigger counterpart, including the much touted Retina Display with 2048x1536 pixels resolution.
Now, beyond just the tag of Retina Display, the resolution numbers do have an enhanced impact and higher clarity on the smaller screen size. In terms of core figures, the smaller iPad can have a pixel density of 326 ppi, which is much greater than the 264 ppi found in new iPad.
Moreover, since we are talking about the 7-inch dimension here, Apple will have the celebrated Kindle Fire as its direct competitor. This insinuates a scope of aggressive pricing policy, which in turn could be the definitive attribute of the smaller iPad. According to the rumors, Apple is eyeing a price of around $200 to $250. If this pricing structure comes to fruition, the possibilities of a cheap tablet device (more advanced than Kindle Fire) with all the high end features might just become a reality.
Of course, as with all speculations, it remains to be seen on how Apple could pull off this remarkable 'heist'. Till now, we only know that this iPad will have a reduced storage of 8GB. However, excluding that aspect the presumed 7-inch tablet should be an electronic wonder as well as commercial winner in every possible level.
