Gmate is a new tiny companion device by Skyroam that adds dual SIM capabilities to the iPhone. It is an accessory that basically has three capabilities: Firstly it transforms an iPhone into dual SIM phone, secondly it transforms iPod Touch into an iPhone and lastly transforms iPad into 3G iPad. The Gmate measures 87 × 47 × 11.7 and weighs just 48grams, and can be connected wirelessly to iPod Touch, iPhone and other Android devices via a Bluetooth.

By connecting to Gmate, iPod touch users can automatically enable iTouch with all the features of iPhone with the addition of SMS, Internet access and voice calls via Gmate’s EDGE/GPRS. iPhone users and other Android phone users have a single SIM card slot inside but with the addition of Gmate another SIM card can be inserted in the Gmate. So users can enjoy dual SIM features on their smart phone, maintaining only a single phone book, call logs and sms.
Users of iPad and various other Pad’s can link with Gmate with sms, voice and Internet access. Most of the users buy iPad with the WiFi option only because 3G costs more, But with Gmate all the Pad users can have Internet access anytime, anywhere as the Pad’s with WiFi cannot be used everywhere such as in buses, subways, parks etc.
Gmate will cost you $99 and it is available in two models with a different color options to choose from. It has a battery life of 72 hours and a slot to hold a SIM card. Now it is your choice whether to go for it or not as it is a good option to transform your Apple devices for a usage.
