Retro Bureau brings back the groovy ‘60s to your home office

With more and more people choosing to telecommute and opting to work from home whenever possible, bureaus have made a grand comeback into fashion. After a gap of more than 40 years, the style of office desks returns to home and office décor with its minimalist styling and maximum functionality offering larger office spaces as well as home offices the kind of space efficiency that regular desks and cubicles simply cannot. Designed by Retro for UK retailer Wharfside, the Retro Bureau is inspired by the Scandinavian influenced furniture designs of the 1960s and comes with sleek angular lines and curved smooth surfaces.

The innovative design is also offered in an array of bright and cheerful colors that can be matched to a number of interior colors and can even serve as an accent piece. The bureaus are made in Germany and are created to remain sturdy and functional for a good few decades. The modern bureau is fashioned to open and close softly that is enabled by a Gas-run hydraulic mechanism.

Inside the lid section, a storage groove and elastic holders keep items secure and neatly organized in their place. The bottom of the desk features a drawer that comes with pre-installed pencil trays. The bureau comes with a 75 cm tall working surface fashioned in black linoleum. The entire piece has been laced with integrated wiring and comes with pre fitted LED light as well.
