Why was my rename folder and sendto permission denied, do I need to reinstall the operating system?

Why was my rename folder and sendto permission denied, do I need to reinstall the operating system? I tried to use the use the google toolbar gadgets but it did not help. When I was trying to rename a folder using the rename folder option and then when I tried the sendto option to send my file, I was denied permission, I don't understand why. Why do you think was my rename folder and sendto permission denied? Do I need to reinstall the operating system? Sometimes certain problems gets sorted by restarting the computer so do you think it might help to rename the folder, but I have already done so twice and the problem still persists. How do I fix it?

Usually, the inability to rename a folder or to use the send to option is a temporary condition. However there may be many causes resulting in such a condition. In most of the cases, this problem can be resolved by doing a reboot of your computer. If rebooting the computer does not solve the problem as in your case, there may be some of the following reasons causing this problem:

1. The files in the folder that you are trying to rename may be in active use by the computer. In that case the folder can not be deleted or renamed. This is only a temporary issue, and in most cases can be resolved by waiting. You can also try navigating to the concerned folder's location and doing a system refresh. Now try renaming the folder again.

2. File unlockers are a piece of software that are capable of renaming as well as deleting files which are otherwise inaccessible. They provide access to files which are locked by some other programs. You can download various file unlockers over the web and follow the respective instructions to solve your problem.

3. Sometimes, you may be denied a rename or send to permission due to a non-administrative account. You can gain such permissions by logging on to your system using an administrative account. An administrative account can be created in the "Control Panel" under the "Add or Remove User Accounts" menu.
