How do I remove line breaks in Microsoft Word 2007?

I have copied text from RFC which has short length lines. In MS word, each line covers two third space in a single line. So, I have to go end of every line and press delete several times to form full length lines. For example, Instead of using a "___" line break that creates a long black line across the page, I used "....." which created a long dotted line across the page. But now it won't let me delete it or cut it or even select it with the mouse Is there any easier way to paste and convert full length lines?

MS Word can be annoying at times. You can solve this by removing these lines. Go to the page layout and click page borders. Then go to the borders tab and click none. These are called horizontal lines. Put text before and after the line. Highlight the text both before and after. Press delete. These lines are probably borders on the paragraph between them. You can get rid of them by: Click in the paragraph. In the Home/Paragraph option, click the borders and shading list box and then select no border. All the best.
