ReCell Spray-On to stimulate healthy new skin growth

The Cambridge-based Avita Medical Ltd has contrived a groundbreaking spray-on treatment method for large-scale regeneration of human skin. The technique involves preparing a water-like solution, dubbed the ReCell Spray-On Skin, from a tiny sample of the patient’s skin and spraying it on the injured part of the body. The process will foster the growth of skin in the damaged area and heal the wounds quickly.

The ReCell Spray-on Skin will change the way surgeons treat burns, wounds and other skin-related ailments. According to Avita scientists, the spray stimulates restoration of new skin in a matter of days. The new skin will begin to generate in 5 to 7 days, thus a patient won't have to stay in hospital for days.

The ReCell incubation machine can produce the cell suspension in few minutes. It takes only 20 minutes to turn a 2 centimeter square skin sample to cell suspension, which can be used to treat an area for 80 times. The solution is filled with millions of microscopic skin cells, which help grow the natural skin on a wounded part of the body.

ReCell Spray-On Skin re-creates the natural skin that matches well with the texture and color of the surrounding area. That’s why the technology will be highly helpful in reconstructive, plastic and cosmetic surgeries. All scars and marks can be patched up with a new natural skin.
