The awaited Sony PlayStation Vita may be an out-and-out portable gaming console; however, it is to get a blatant rival from Razer by the end of the year. Razer doesn’t just come out with an only-for-gaming gadget like the PS Vita. As it is demoed at the CES 2012, Razer’s Project Fiona is a tablet designed for PC gaming. The leader in high performance gaming hardware claims that the Fiona will be the world’s first tablet dedicated for gaming.

Unlike a tablet for general use and casual gaming, the Fiona aims at hardcore PC gamers. Well, the concept tablet supports all popular PC games of today including Firefall, H.A.W.X. 2 and Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Razer claims. For an exceptional on-the-move gaming experience, an intuitive control setup will be there in the tablet.
Of course, the Project Fiona tablet will ship with Windows 8. Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor will be powering the gaming tablet. Does it sound great? PS Vita will have to run for its money now. A large 10.1-inch 1280x800 display with integrated controllers on each side will gift a splendorous look for the Fiona. Razer further claims that the device will support 3-axis gyro, multi-touch capability, accelerometer, magnetometer, Dolby 7.1 surround sound and force feedback.
For connectivity, the tablet will have Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11bgn Wi-Fi. Different from its former gaming device concept the Switchable, the Project Fiona is a prototype rather than a concept. Razer will start shipping the gaming tablet in the fourth quarter this year for a price “under $1000.”
