Which PDA phone operating system is better, Blackberry or Windows, and why?

I am looking for a good phone. One of my friends told me that features in all the phones are almost same, what I should look for is the better operating system. I am totally confused between Blackberry pearl and Samsung Blackjack phones. Which PDA phone operating system is better, Blackberry or Windows, and why? I would really appreciate your useful opinion regarding this as it can help me buy better one. Thank you for your assistance.

First of all, you are misinformed by your friends. Features in all the phones are NOT almost the same. While one can make a assertion that the basic features are more or less the same, certainly modern mobile operating systems are beyond the set of basic features and stand out on their own. According to your question, it looks like you have set your mind on two specific platforms - BlackBerry and Windows Phone. Let's give you a small introduction about both these platforms. BlackBerry is mostly known for the highly secure email and messaging service. Their services is not governed by anyone else like Google or Microsoft and offers fantastic levels of quality and reliability, not to forget unmatched level of security. BlackBerry is mostly a platform for business users who take productivity very seriously and needs better security for their needs. Windows Phone is on the other hand, a fantastic emerging platform from Microsoft that is not selected towards a particular group of users. Microsoft's motto is to make Windows Phone people's OS and it offers some great levels of end user experience that is unmatched by anyone else. Inbuilt Microsoft Office support, fully secure and encrypted Hotmail integration with Microsoft Exchange support is also highlights of the platform. Now it is up to you for a successful decision regarding a platform. If you want to stick with a tried and tested platform that primarily focuses on unrivaled communications, then BlackBerry should be your choice. On the other hand, if you like to have a more open platform with good quality third party apps available, then go for Windows Phone.
