How to password protect a folder Windows 7:

The answer lies in the following steps:

  1. Create a new folder and name it whatever you want.
  2. Open the folder, right-click a blank area where you then select New -> Text Document from the popup menu.
  3. Open the text file you just created a double-click it and copy / paste the following text:
  4. In the above code, replace the key PASSWORD_GOES_HERE password to use to open the folder. For example, if you want the password is 123456, the line should look like:
    if they fail%% == 123 456 Go to FAULT
  5. Save the file back to the format of a bat. With the full name of the file locker.bat. To do this,make sure you change the Save as type: All files (*.*).
  6. In the folder you created back in step 1, double click the file and now locker.bat will be a new folder called private where you can put whatever you want.
  7. Coming out, double click the file locker.bat again. You will be prompted to answer if you want to lock the folder or not. And the press and the private folder will disappear.
  8. In order to recover the private folder, all you have to do is double click the file and enter the password locker.bat you configured in Step 4 and the folder will appear again for you to access.
  9. That’s it!
