As a start, i would like you to update your browser to the latest version by going to help and then clicking "About". There you will find a button to update your browser. You can also download a new version of Firefox from the site itself. This process will make sure that the Firefox is updated and your browser matches with mine.

To open a new tab there are few steps to follow:

  1. At the top left hand corner of your browser, you will find an orange button that is labeled as Firefox (File if you are using previous versions of Firefox).
  2. Click Firefox /File.
  3. Find and click the first option for new tab. (this will take you to the new tab). You can also find an arrow that will open a sub-content with labels as "New Tab" and "New window".
  4. Click "New Tab".
  5. A shortcut of "ctrl + T" will also work perfectly.

    OR

  1. You will notice "+" button next to the opened tab at the "tab bar".
  2. Click "+" to open new tab.

Please note that double clicking the task bar will either minimize the browser or restore it in smaller window. There is a difference between "tabs" and "windows". Tabs are opened in the current browser window itself whereas windows opens the browser once again making it total of two browsers. Using tabs in every browser is very important as it reduces the clustered windows, less ram is used, arranging and organizing becomes easy, etc.
