How does an open source operating system such as Kubuntu help expedite the hard drive format process?

I need to fdisk and reinstall everything on my XP computer. Someone mentioned something called Kubuntu. Is this an OS itself? If so should I use it instead of XP and if not how does it help XP get in my system better or work better? How does an open source operating system such as Kubuntu help expedite the hard drive format process? I would really appreciate your useful information regarding my query. Thanks for the help!

Yes, my friend Kubuntu is an OS itself and you can use it instead of WindowsXP. It is an OS derived from Ubuntu Operating System (OS). The K at the beginning of the Ubuntu represents the KDE community on whose platform the Kubuntu was developed. It is a part of the Ubuntu project and uses the same underlying system. Kubuntu plasma desktop is fully customizable. Kubuntu OS consists of much more tools than that of Windows OS has. It is designed to ease evolution for users from other operating systems (such as Microsoft Windows) by allowing a similar desktop layout. The Ubuntu and the Kubuntu uses the same source for their software, any application planned for one is installable and will work, on the other. The desktop edition of Kubuntu currently supports the AMD64 and the Intel x86 architectures. The main difference between these two operating systems is typically only graphical applications and tools used. For expedite the hard drive format process you can check the link click here.
