One of the questions asked by many people that start in the Android world is how to install Office for Android, or put another way, how to run Office files (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) on a mobile device that uses Android .

If you are looking for an Office application for Android, read as discuss the best applications to use Office files in our Android phones.

1. Documents To Go

This application is considered one of the best programs to create, view and edit Office files on Android. Documents To Go for Android is a complete suite that will allow us to work with the following file formats: doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx.

The Office application for Android, has a free version which you can see part of the potential of the tool, but only allows us to view files of the types mentioned above. If we want to create, edit and have the application running at 100%, we will buy it at the Market. That said, one of the clear disadvantages of this tool is the high price of the application.

The developer of Documents To Go, Dataviz, known to have one of the best applications for Android Office and therefore have not hesitated to put a price a little high for the program.

Another great applications on Android exist for editing Office files. Quickoffice Pro for Android, provides 3 powerful editors to make use of Office files into Android:

Quickword: lets you edit Word files.
Quickpoint: To work with Powerpoint slides.
Quickoffice: focuses on spreadsheets.
Nor can we forget that Quickoffice Pro has a PDF document viewer. Another interesting feature of this tool is the ability to work in the cloud, allowing us to work with services like Dropbox, MobileMe, Box.net, Huddle, Google Docs and SugarSync.

Finally, mention that one of the features I liked best about this editor Office for Android, has been the ability to hear (via speaker phone us) any document without having to read it directly on the screen.

I contribute my grain of sand and return to the forum how much you learn from other users and I think it's good to share knowledge to benefit all and out encouragement to each of us brings something related to a topic that is of general interest. For example: to explain the operation of an application with pictures or make a video tutorial on Youtube showing how to do a Root and update a ROM, a tutorial on how to install SDK and operation, etc. ..

Many times we want an application to do a certain thing and do not know what it's called, so I have listed the main applications for our Samsung Android Galaxy S, briefly explaining what each one of them. If you see an application is poorly explained or can explain better, I do know what to edit and improve it.

If you know of any application that is really good and worth adding to the list, you can write the full name of the application and a brief explanation for it serves.

If there is any application that has been shown to contain malware, you do know me, to remove from the list.

The majority of applications are used also for other Android phones, though there are some that are specific to the SGS.The idea is to compile applications compatible with our phone.
