December usually is the season to be jolly for gamers and folks looking to get a good bargain on consoles and gaming titles. This year’s holiday season too brings with a number of cool holiday bundles and special offers in the world of gaming though fans of the Nintendo Wii may be a little disappointed to hear that the Wii Fit will not be released for the Nintendo Wii U till the first half of next year.
The popular Wii Fit has been getting living room athletes get off their couches and moving about and work on their fitness without having to go through gaming and technology withdrawal. Released in 2008, the Wii Fit has a huge fan following on its own which means that the company would need to release an updated version of it for their latest gaming console, the Wii U.
In a presentation held earlier in the week, the gaming giant announced that the Wii Fit U will indeed be launched early next year and will be offered with a number of improvements including something called a Fit Meter that will essentially work like a standard pedometer and keep track of a user activity through the day even when they are not actually using the console. This data can then be uploaded into the Wii U to prove them with a more comprehensive idea of their activity level each day.
A lot of the titles offered with the previous version of the Wii Fit will be carried over in the new offering that will come with as many as 77 activities. Even though it doesn’t come with holiday discounts, it still gives people enough time to save up for the new console and include the Wii Fit U in their New Year fitness resolutions.
