Which is the best network software?

I am looking for the best network software to monitor home network computers, I don't want to see websites, but I want to see what each computer is taking up in up-down bandwidth and if their accessing another computer on the home network. It would be great if it works with my Ubunto Linux computers to. If any of you have dealt with such problem and solved it will be the best advice for this question.
