NEC has introduced yet another super-thin Android smartphone, called the Medias ES N-05D. The successor to the last year’s Medias N-04C is up with a waist of just 6.7 millimeter. However, it is by a hair's breadth thicker than the Huawei Ascend P1 S, the world’s slimmest phone with a 6.68 mm body. Apart from its sleek form factor, the Media ES N-05D is a water-resistant and dust proof handset.

Though small, the NEC phone will come equipped with a dual core 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. It will have a big 4.3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Thanks to an 8.1-megapixel rear camera and illuminated sensor, you can grab better snaps with the smartphone like all key handsets in stores today.
The water resistant Android smartphone will appear in two colors: white and pink. NEC will make the Medias ES N-05D available in Japan initially. Leading carrier of the country NTT DoCoMo will sell the new NEC smartphone. The company has not divulged any possibility for the U.K or U.S. release of the super-thin handset.
Meantime, Huawei is soon to release its Ascend P1 S in U.K. this summer. More tech makers are coming up with thinner and lightweight handsets in order to tempt the customers, who are looking for lighter gadgets. Indeed, the Medias ES N-05D can do better in Japan. NEC may release the gadget in global markets later.
