NEC Corp’s masterpiece ultra-thin Organic Radical Battery (ORB) goes further thinner. The Japanese IT company has announced a highly flexible 0.3 thin ORB, which highlights a tremendous charging time of 30 seconds. Fine, the revamped ORB is well-suited for the standard IC cards, which measure a density of 0.76mm.

Beyond any doubt, the new ultra-thin ORB can do magic in tech markets. Since the battery is so thin and it is compatible with slim IC cards, tech products will turn more powerful and faster in future. The new ORB, besides being flexible and thinner, provides immense power output and instant charging capability too. In performance and charging speed, it can outshine all present rechargeable batteries including lithium-ion batteries. Current ORBs are of 0.7mm thick so that they are not suitable for IC cards of standard thickness.
It is here the new units with less than half the size of conventional ORBs, which is crucial for better performance of gadgets. NEC has accomplished this enormous size-reduction through advanced technologies. They make use of printing techniques to incorporate circuit boards with batteries. Needless to mention, the high power and efficient ORBs can do great surprise in a variety of products like displays, advanced encryption processing and other gadgets.
The ORB technology is also not harmful for our environment. They don’t include any of heavy metals that cause grave and irreparable damage to environment. On the other hand, traditional batteries are dangerous for the environment from their production stage to disposal stage.
