How do I navigate my way to get current directory, c prompt in windows xp?

How do I navigate my way to get current directory, c prompt in windows xp? I want to view the hidden files and move through my file system in a jiffy and relive the feeling like I am using the DOS once again. After hitting the Enter I typed the command in the dialog that comes up. What do I do after that? How do I navigate from here? Help me please.

To get the current directory location you have to type command "cd" where you are now from DOS.

Press C:Mydir....CurrentDir> cd Enter

If you want to store current directory in a file :

type C:Mydir....CurrentDir cd>fileName.txt

If you want to view the hidden files you can type the command as:

C:Mydir....CurrentDirdir /ah Enter
